What Are Thermoformers?
Thermoformer machines are automatic horizontal packaging machines that form packs within the machine’s frame using a top and bottom reel of film. During operation, the bottom film is shaped, forming an open container or pack. Product is then placed in the pack utilizing the available loading area. The packs, now ladened with product, advance to a sealing station and the top film seals a lid over the top. The individual packs are then separated in the cutting station. Depending on the material used, packages can be flexible or rigid.

Why Incorporate Thermoformers into Your Production Process?
Thermoforming gives you more versatility than many other types of packaging.
In addition to versatility, thermoformers also provide you with other benefits to help you improve production, lower costs, and get a higher Return on Investment (ROI) over time:
- Reduced downtime
- User-friendly operation
- Multiple packing material allowances (formats, shapes & more)
- Extended shelf life
- Enhanced environmental sustainability
- Single operator, tool-free changeovers
- Motorized exit conveyors for better control
- Ethernet connection for remote troubleshooting
- Stainless steel safety guards
Some Key Features of our Medical Thermoforming Equipment
2-column Servo Drive Lifting System – Interlocking lever mechanism of 2-columns that are supported on the frame of the machine and operated by a servo drive motor; Built with anodized aluminum and stainless steel, and utilizes wear-resistant, lubrication-free IGUS bushings
Pre-heating Station – Both sides of the film heated prior to the forming process
Forming with Plug Assist – For packages requiring high stretch for flexible and rigid films; A mechanical plug or series of plugs of the same shape as the cavity to be formed are incorporated into the top part of the forming system, ensuring a consistent film thickness on the package walls
Longitudinal Cutting System – For longitudinal separation of flexible and rigid film packages; A circular knife presses the film against a rotating flat surface on a disc to cut the film. This generates no film dust, making it ideal for medical applications.
Data Integrity – Validation of systems to ensure accuracy, reliability, consistent intended performance, and the ability to discern invalid or altered records; Includes a user management system where each individual accesses the HMI with personal credentials
Some other features of our TFS machines include:.
- Sealing station pressure sensor
- Sealing plate location verification system
- Upper/lower film end detectors
- Sealing time control
- Machine inlet pressure sensor to verify actual air pressure
- Forming station pressure sensor to signal for automatic product loading

Reduced Scrap System for Darfresh® Rollstock Packaging
TFS 216
Innovative thermoforming solution with zero base scrap, using LeafSkin™ packaging
Request a QuoteThe new TFS 216 (available in Q1 2023) uses cardboard rollstock to package fresh products in vacuum skin packs on a flat cardboard base, with no waste.
The drag chains that are commonly used in most conventional thermoformers require part of the original width of the reel to be discarded. The TFS 216 is equipped with an innovative bottom film traction system without chains, so the LeafSkinTM packaging format retains all of the base material, regardless of its width.
This innovative packaging system is part of our solutions aimed at offering our customers more sustainable packaging solutions with a smaller environmental impact.
Benefits:
Packaging costs
- Due to the lack of base cardboard scrap, save up to 11% compared to other conventional thermoformers with chain transport systems.
- Save up to 48% in base material costs compared to using pre-made trays.
Sustainability
- Up to 80% less plastic compared to traditional skin packaging.
Logistics
- A smaller carbon footprint associated with the transportation of packaging material and waste management.
