Cryovac® Darfresh on Tray®

.

Harpak-ULMA’s advanced thermoform skin machinery allows for full integration of Cryovac® Darfresh on Tray® technology. This revolutionary new skin packaging technology that uses 100% of the skin film to seal the packages, generating zero scrap loss and eliminating the need for scrap wind-ups. This process significantly cuts costs and increases production speeds by up to 40% more than traditional tray skin machines. Darfresh on Tray® is enabled by the innovative and patented Mondini “Platform Technology”, which allows a single tray sealing machine to produce a variety of packaging formats with minimal change-over time. The Cryovac® Darfresh® on Tray packaging process eliminates film scrap to offer a more environmentally friendly alternative.

Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP)

.

Since oxygen speeds up the process of spoilage, Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP), lowers or eliminates oxygen inside the packaging. The air in the package is flushed with gas mixtures that help extend the product’s shelf life. Some common gases used are carbon dioxide, oxygen, nitrogen and carbon dioxide. Nitrogen is used to prevent oxidation and helps prevent package collapse.

Vacuum

.

Vacuum packaging creates a cavity by heating and forming the surrounding film into the desired shape of the packaged product. The process then introduces the product into said cavity by manual or automated means and removes all air and contaminating particulates before sealing occurs. Vacuum packaging offers various advantages such as mold and bacteria prevention, flavor preservation, enhanced product protection, and longer shelf life.

Tray Seal Skin

.

Tray seal skin packaging incorporates a bottom support tray and top film to create a vacuum pack. Both of these films are sealed over the entire surface of the package except for the area occupied by the product. This process generates zero scrap loss and allows a single tray sealing machine to produce a variety of packaging formats with minimal change-over time.

Stretch Seal

.

With stretch seal technology, rather than wrapping film around the product and tray, only the flange of the tray is sealed. This prevents leakage from the tray and saves film costs. Stretch seal is ideal for meat and poultry products.

PaperSeal®

.

PaperSeal® expands the opportunities to replace MAP and Vacuum Sealed Packaging (VSP) plastic trays with barrier lined cardboard. The process operates by forming a MAP-ready tray from a pre-cut flat cardboard, which is then augmented with an automatically applied barrier liner in a one-step process. Our unique PaperSeal® manufacturing not only generates the perfect sealing surface, but also provides a flawless 360° communication on all package surfaces. PaperSeal® reduces the need for plastic content by up to 80% and reduces overall inventory needs with availability of smaller purchase quantities. The PaperSeal® process comes highly recommended for food-based products, such as cheese, fresh meats, processed meats, ready-made products, frozen foods, snacks, salads, and fruit.

Hybric Flat 3D

Hybric Flat 3D packaging uses advanced Platformer technology to create a transparent vacuum skin for food-based products.
