IT Technician

Summary:  The Associate will work with the Director of IT to service our network and personal computers.  Ensure continuity of computer system services for our end users by providing technical expertise, assistance and project coordination necessary to install computer software products, modify/repair hardware and resolve technical problems.  The Associate will be the first line for support.  

Time Utilization:  Full-time with business hours between 8:30am to 5:00pm.  Schedule needs to be somewhat flexible to accommodate unforeseen end user issues, critical updates and disaster recovery.  This position may travel occasionally to our office in Georgia.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  1. Under the direction of the IT Director provide in-house computer/network support relating to software and hardware products. Set-up new employee equipment and train new associates on usage.
  2. Install, modify, diagnose, repair and maintain computer equipment and printers.
  3. Manage desktop Windows operating systems to Company standards.
  4. The ability to work with remote end-users to diagnose and resolve issues.
  5. Assist in the maintenance of the WAN/LAN network.
  6. Working knowledge of Apple products (iPhone, iPad, Mac IOS) with diagnostic abilities.
  7. Maintain confidentiality of Company information.
  8. Be receptive to on-going coaching and training to further develop professional skill set.

Education/Experience:
Core competencies required, specifically; problem solving/analysis of technology; technical capacity; excellent interpersonal skills; initiative; and strong time management.

Minimum 2 to 3 year’s information technology experience or Microsoft MCSE certification; and technical knowledge of PC’s, laptops, printers and peripheral hardware devices. Active Directory, Network Application Server and Network Maintenance experience strong pluses. Associate’s degree from an accredited educational institution in computer science preferred

Strong working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office products, virus protection and diagnostic software.  Experience with IOS devices and network knowledge with Domain Servers and TCP-IP.   Willingness and ability to diagnose and resolve onsite and remote PC related computing problems.  Experience with Apple products desired.  Experience with the following items would be a plus including Great Plains, FileMaker Pro, Rockwell Software, MS Visio, MS Publisher, Network wiring, Fireworks and/or Abode.

Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as legal documents, technical descriptions and specifications, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in the use of MS Office Suite and Windows platform.  Prior experience with Contact Management systems and Database software desired.  Working knowledge of FileMaker Pro would be a plus.
